  1. Recording the human voice. While experimenting with a new telegraph device, Thomas Edison stumbles upon the beginnings of recorded sound. He notices a speech-like noise as he accidentally.

If we were to use the full dynamic range of 24bit and a listener had the equipment to reproduce it all, there is a fair chance, depending on age and general health, that the listener would die instantly. The most fit would probably just go into coma for a few weeks and wake up totally deaf.

  6. Feb 15,  · My system is a middle of the road one of 90s vintage (except my TT). It's a Marantz CD63SE CD player into a Nakamichi RE-2 receiver through Paradigm 5se speakers. I am totally happy with the sound of any CD through this set-up (I say any CD because the ones that don't sound good aren't the fault of the system).

If you had a multimeter you could test across the speaker terminals at the back of the set they should read about to 4 ohm, if you set the meter to continuity you could put one lead to earth and touch the other lead on each individual speaker lead if you get continuity on one of them you will have.
  9. Audio content timing errors tend to occur more with low bit rates, and the effect is particularly noticeable on the human voice. You've probably heard this before: a single voice can sound like it has been double-tracked and made robotic. Listen to audio examples E and F and you'll see what I mean: Audio Example E: A raw WAV file of some speech.
